Parents Brace for Mid-year Teacher Layoffs

In a report from Michigan Public Radio:

"Many parents in Michigan are bracing for the loss of their children's teachers mid-way through the school year.

Budget cuts are forcing many school districts to craft budget-cutting plans that include teacher layoffs. Dearborn school officials say they'll cut 90 teachers in February if state lawmakers don't find a way to avoid reductions in school payments."
