More Equitable Resource Allocation
Position Allocation System for Instructional Areas
The Practitioners Summit favors implementing a position allocation system for classroom teaching staff. A base staffing level needs to be established as an instructional standard and implemented equally on a statewide basis. Positions to be included would be classroom teachers (including special education), social workers, librarians, speech / language specialists, psychologists and guidance counselors. This would afford opportunities to better manage class size and avoid the implementation of unfunded mandates.
