Position Point #3: Statewide Health Insurance Pool
Again this function can be more efficiently performed at the state level. Educators, and maybe state and municipal employees, could be placed in a common insurance pool and employees could choose from a list of health insurance options. A governing board should be established to oversee the pool and should include representatives of each employee group. The Practitioners Summit believes that each employee should pay some portion of the health insurance premium.
