The Macomb Daily has been consistent over the years in calling for school consolidation. In a Friday editorial, the Daily calls for school districts to voluntarily consolidate before the state mandates it.
Situated close to Detroit, Macomb County compares itself to larger districts in Oakland and Wayne Counties. On more than one occasion, I have read the paper's opinion that the districts of Lake Shore, Lakeview, and South Lake should be consolidated.
