OUR OPINION
We don't know if Andy Dillon's idea for melding all public employees into a single health insurance pool would save as much as Michigan's House Speaker thinks it could. But given the stakes, it deserves a thorough analysis. Instead, the response is politics-as-usual. A lousy strategy for staring down a $1.8 billion state budget deficit.
